Learnpremium Interactive CD-ROMs provide high quality digital resources for teachers and students at
key stage 3. Featuring interactive lessons, whiteboard resources, lesson packs and tests, each CD-ROM
offers a balanced and truly interactive set of materials for teachers and students. All of the content has been
carefully written and developed to meet the objectives of national curriculum programmes of study, QCA
schemes of work and the key stage 3 strategy.

Learnpremium CD-ROMs are the result of a partnership between Hodder Murray and learnpremium from the
Guardian. This exciting and unique partnership draws on the learnpremium award-winning bank of digital
content, which is written by teachers for teachers. This ensures that it is linked directly to the national curriculum,
QCA scheme of work and the key stage 3 strategy and is relevant and practical for the classroom.

FAQs

Q: Can I network Learnpremium Interactive CD-ROMs?
A: Yes, purchasing a CD-ROM entitles you to put it on your school network, allowing unlimited access
for as long as you want to use it – there is no scale of prices according to user numbers and no annual
renewal costs. The one-off cost also allows you to print off and photocopy any material from the CD-ROM.

Q: How do I access technical support?
A: Go to our support page. If you don't find the answer there, email or call learnpremium's helpdesk using the
number on our support page.

Q: Do the CD-ROMs promote Assessment for Learning?
A: Yes – each test is marked and feedback given. The student can also link directly back to the relevant
place in the lesson to revise the material that has just been tested.

Q: Do I need to link to the internet to use the CD-ROMs?
A: No, the CD-ROMs are completely independent from the internet and can be used on an individual
PC or on the school network.

Q: Do I need a whiteboard to use the CD-ROMs?
A: No, the CD-ROMs can be used in conjunction with a data projector, or viewed on a PC monitor – using
with a whiteboard does, however, give you access to the full functionality and interactivity of the CD-ROMs.

Q: Can I create my own tests?
A: Yes, the CD-ROMs allow you to create your own tests and/or use the tests provided – 2 tests per
lesson, differentiated to levels 3-6 and 5-8 are provided. To create your own test you can select the level
and number of questions in the test and the topics covered.

Tests can be printed out and taken on paper or answered on screen to take advantage of the links back into
related content within the lessons.

Availability & Prices

There will be 9 CD-ROMs available in July 2004, with a further 20 titles to follow over the next year for key
stage 3 and GCSE.

The first 9 CD-ROMs are for years 7, 8 and 9 of key stage 3, in maths, science and French.

Learnpremium Interactive CD-ROMs will provide an average of 300 test questions per disk and over 200
pages of lesson content, containing interactive activities throughout.
